Welcome to TeamFire

I am opening up a new channel TeamFire.xyz that is dedicated to all things I have interest in:

  • Technology
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Art
  • Movement
  • Financial Basic
  • Investing
  • Real Estate
  • Education

These are the things that interest me most and I feel like my current social medias & plugs are too closely tied with friends, family, and work. In honestly I think it’s also good to not throw my interests in the face of my family and friends. I am deciding to separate my content creation/interests from my personal social media in order to keep some things private and others a public forum.

One conversation I had with my SO is that my personality is very much sporadic when it comes to things outside of work, my relationship, and my family. My relationship with my friends & hobbies and interest are in constant flux and in a state of fluidity – including this blog. And I am working with that. All other interest I have I am posting on this channel as documentation of those hobbies and information.

My clear plan is to use this long form post that I am doing now to outline my ideas clearly and with more details. Maybe including some links or additional doubts. Then have a summarized version of all of it at the bottom which would be used a short form video content for instagram and tiktok & youtube shorts. Then some screenshots or clips will be used for instagram posts.

I think if i do this, it would be a good balance of sharing my progress in those areas of interests and to see what else floats outside of it.

Now on to the review of 2021 and my next goals for 2022.

Review of Goals set for 2021

Let’s review each goal 1 by 1. Luckily, i posted the list on my blog for all to read. I wrote the blog in NextJS at the time with an integration to word press. I still like set up, but may experiment with remix for this new way of posting from notion.

  • 2 Youtube Videos a Month
    • I made 3 videos which felt super tough to do. I like my scripted stuff better, but it tough trying to thing of content, shape it, create graphics around it, create a story and narrative, and the post it. I enjoyed making that content but didn’t really enjoy have to spend 10+ hours on something I wasn’t super passionate about it. So I am switching gears to short video content and repurposing the hell out of it.
  • Buy House and Rent
    • This became somewhat true. I did purchase a house that I moved into and have done some basic renovations. But I have yet to rent it. Likely will this year after moving to California.
  • 1000 Subscribers
    • Nope! Didn’t happen, but I enjoyed thinking about it. I was caught up with work and it distracted me from it. all good.
  • Publish an Online Course
    • Nope. Still one of those ideas I would love to do but didn’t get to it.
  • Write a Monthly Newsletter
    • Nope. I changed my mind on this one. I’d rather focus on short form video content with an accompanying blog. It’s better to use as a form of “presentation” of what I learned about this thing.
  • Start a SaaS
    • Nope. again still interests me, but just to busy to focus on this.
  • Drop 50lbs
    • I did drop 20 and just got comfortable. I will pick this back up and make this my focus point.
  • Create a FREE e-book
    • Nope. I think my interest lies elsewhere now. Again I would love to do it, but I find it tough to manage with all my other interests.

Overall, not a lot a progress made on these goals but I learned which ones I no longer want to purse and which I do. As I’ll mention in the next section, there is still a lot I want to know accomplish on some of these, but these goals will be more about what I am choosing to focus on and what would be nice to have and do if time permits.

Goals for 2022

This upcoming year, I want to set goals a bit differently. I want to make them more open ended and just ensure they are focused around the things I care about.

So for this years goals, here are my focus points for 2022.

  • Career and profession
  • Personal Finance & Investments
  • Building my small businesses
  • My physical health & nutrition
  • Mindfulness and self care
  • Relationship building & caring

Additional would be nice to explore and do if time permits

  • Painting/Art
  • Blogging
  • Video creation
  • Music Creation
  • Instructor/Speaker

And that is what TeamFire is going to be all about. It’ll be place for me to document my journey on my focus points while also being able to share any of the “nice to explore” stuff.

Recap

One year ago (2020), I wrote down 8 goals, and it’s been a whole year later (2021) and here is what I was able to achieve.

  • #1 – 2 Youtube Videos a Month
    • ❌ I really wanted to start making video content since it was a medium I was somewhat familiar with. But I stopped at video 3 after work ramped up and my interest died down.
  • #2 – Buy House and Rent
    • ✅ I did buy a home and have done some renovation. I’ve yet to rent but def want to soo.
  • #3 – 1000 Subscribers
    • ⚠️ ! Only got 13 and I thank them all. I shifted gears away from content creation and focused only on my career.
  • #4 – Publish an Online Course
    • ❌. Still one of those ideas I would love to do but didn’t get to it.
  • #5 – Write a Monthly Newsletter
    • ❌. I never really planned or through through what content I wanted to share and ultimately decided not to move forward with it.
  • $6 – Start a SaaS
    • ⚠️  I created some ideas, screens, and logos, but didn’t move much from there. Still something I am interested in but not in the mean time,
  • #7 – Drop 50lbs
    • ⚠️ I did drop 20 by taking some martial arts classes, but ultimatley came at a platto with a bad diet and lack of excersice but def one I am focusing on next year.
  • #8 – Create a FREE e-book
    • ❌. With a lack of preparation and interest, i never picked this up. Again I would love to do it, but I find it tough to manage with all my other interests.

For Goals for 2022, I structured those a bit differently.

Instead of making those outcome-based/measure-able goals, I made these more of focus points vs nice to explore.

“Focus Points”

  • Career and profession
  • Personal Finance & RE & Investments
  • Building my small businesses
  • My physical health & nutrition
  • Mindfulness and self care
  • Relationship building & caring

“Nice to Explore”

  • Painting/Art
  • Blogging
  • Video/Content creation
  • Music Creation
  • Instructor/Speaker

This helps me be less caught up on numbers and whether something was achieved or not at the end of the year, and instead gives me areas where I can review where I put my time and attention too.
